God of War: Chains of Olympus

When Sony released God of War for the Playstation 2, they set a new standard for platforming and combat. They took an epic story that was thousands of years in the making and focused on making action that did not hold back. Kratos takes center stage with his Blades of Chaos and unleashes hell on Hades under the servitude of the gods. Subsequent games in the series have seen this methodology expanded upon and improved with each iteration. Chains of Olympus is no exception.

Daxter

Jack and Daxter have been iconic game characters since their debut in 2001. In previous games, Jack had generally taken center stage, accompanied by his plucky sidekick, but the PSP's 2006 release of Daxter whisks players away on an adventure almost completely devoid of the series' hero. The game follows the charm and fun ever present in the console versions of the series, but an underdeveloped story and somewhat repetative game play keep this from being all that it could be.

Impending reviews

Hello all,

With the dawn of the PSVita soon upon us, a few things need to happen. First off, I need to preorder mine. Check, I will have the wifi/3g version on the early release on February 15th. Expect a full rundown of the hardware and software on the site updating all day. Second, I believe that the PSP should go out with a bang. To accomplish this, I needed help of IGN's PlayStation Team. Now bear in mind, I don't personally know them, but they have unwittingly helped me by posting the top 25 PSP games of all time. Realizing that these games are on their way out with the advent of a new console, I set out to purchase some. I picked up eight games for under $35.00 (Daxter was a whopping $2.95). These games definitely deserve recognition as the greatest games for an under appreciated hand-held. In the coming days, there will be reviews for some of these including Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2, Rock band: Unplugged, Daxter, and Lumines. All of these will lead up to the inevitable unveiling of the PSVita on February 15th with game play videos of Little Deviants and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

This coverage of hand-held systems will not hamper my focus on console titles. I will continue to post reviews of some of the best (And worst) games I have played. Also, please don't hesitate to post in the comments or suggest reviews either in the comments or in the contact page.

If anyone is reading this, stay classy and keep gaming!

Reviews thus far...

I have realized that thus far, my reviews are all games that I know I have liked. Trust me, I have plenty that I do not like and I will be more than happy to tell you, the readers, about them. In the next day or two, I should have a list of games that fall under this category and I will be sure to post those.

You may also notice that many games are older than most you'd find on sites like IGN. My plan is to get a larger library of reviews on the site for series that have sequels that have recently come out or will come out in the near future. Coming soon will be more reviews for games that have been released more recently such as Forza 4, Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Shadow of the Colossus and Ico remakes, Q.U.B.E, and more.

I have plenty of ideas for the site and hope to get a few more editors so that you don't have to listen to me ramble on only about games I have. It should also hopefully keep updates happening more consistently. As the site grows, you'll find news, previews, and hopefully a podcast or two.

Please let me know if you have any game suggestions (Old or new) and I'll do my best to review them. You can contact me here, leave a comment on the site, or hit me up on the facebooks.

If you like anything you see here, please tell your friends and neighbors and even your latest rival on XBL.

Keep reading and stay classy!

Mass Effect

Bioware has a long history of making fantastic role playing games, but it has outdone itself with the Mass Effect series. Although they have released their original IP Dragon Age since, it does not have the same emotional connection with the characters as Mass Effect. This combined with the unbelievable detail put into the game world make for a fantastic ride that shouldn't be missed.
